The Tecnis Synergy lens was specifically designed to improve both distance and near vision, offering patients with cataracts the ability to reduce or even eliminate the need for glasses after cataract surgery. In post-operative surveys, 9 out of 10 patients that had the Synergy lens implanted reported that they were no longer dependent on glasses after their cataract surgery.
Your surgeon will make a tiny incision, less than 1/8 of an inch wide, and use gentle vacuum suction to remove the natural lens from your eye. Next, through the same micro-incision, your PanOptix® multifocal IOL will be inserted, unfolded, and placed into the proper position. The incision is “self-healing” and usually requires no stitches — it heals quickly and provides a much more comfortable recuperation. The whole procedure usually takes between 15-30 minutes.
