About Whitsett Vision Group

Dr. Jeffrey Whitsett founded Whitsett Vision Group in 1999, with the vision of bringing superior eye care and surgical vision treatments to the city of Houston. Dr. Whitsett specializes in personalized cataract surgery and custom LASIK, focusing on providing patients with the best visual outcomes. Innovation is at the forefront in all the Dr. Whitsett brings to his practice, consistently participating in FDA trials, for which his expertise has been sought, to bring the latest surgical and lens technologies to his patients.

Since 1999, Dr. Whitsett has brought on other specialized doctors to join the Whitsett Vision Group team who also excel at providing patients with expert knowledge, a continued desire to provide innovative technologies and exceptional patient care.

Dr. Cybele Woon joined Whitsett Vision Group in 2003. As a Neuro-Ophthalmologist, Dr. Woon is one of only a handful of physicians in the country to practice in this sub-specialty of ophthalmology. Dr. Woon also specializes in cataract care, as well as medical and elective cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Jesse McKey joined Whitsett Vision Group in 2013, and specializes in custom LASIK and refractive procedures, and personalized cataract care. He is dedicated to integrating the latest in vision technologies to meet the unique goals of each patient.

Dr. Zaina Al-Mohtaseb joined Whitsett Vision Group in 2022. With a specialty in cornea, Dr. Al-Mohtaseb brings a level of knowledge that is highly recognized within the ophthalmology community. While also focused on cataract and refractive surgeries, she is instrumental in cornea procedures and clinical research, currently leading the practice as our Research Director.
